While there is no way to make yourself 100% safe from identity theft, you can decrease your chances of becoming a victim by following these helpful tips!
  • *Enroll in a credit monitoring/identity protection service.

  • *Enroll in a “Two-Step Verification” process for the websites you use that have your   financial or personal data.

  • *Always use strong passwords and change regularly.

  • *Shred all paper records of identity that you no longer need, such as blank statements, medical statements, credit card offers, etc.

  • *Closely monitor activity on all your accounts and credit reports for errors or suspicious activity.

  • *DON’T answer phone calls or click on links in emails requesting personal or financial information. Instead, hang up or ignore the mail. Find the main phone number for whom they claim to be representing (not the number of caller ID or the email) and call them directly.
