Exposure to carbon monoxide can be fatal before you are even aware that it is in your home! Protect your family from this very scary possibility!

 

“You can’t see or small carbon monoxide, but at high levels it can kill a person in minutes,” according to the US. Environmental Protection Agency.

 

At lower levels of exposure, CO causes mild effects that are often mistaken for the flu.

No home should be without a carbon monoxide alarm to detect deadly leaks.

 

Remember, larger and split-level homes will require additional alarms.

 

It is a good idea to set a date that you routinely replace the battery every year.

 

How you Can Reduce Carbon Monoxide Exposure:

Every year should have a professional inspection of all fuel-burning appliances, including furnaces, stoves, fireplaces, clothes dryers, water heaters and space heaters.

 

·         Make sure fuel burning appliances are installed by a professional and work properly.

·         Do not idle your car inside the garage. Auto, truck, or bus exhaust from attached garages nearby roads, or parking areas can also be a source of carbon monoxide poisoning.

·         Choose vented appliances whenever possible.

·         Never run a generator, pressure washer or any gasoline-powered engine in an enclosed structure even with opened doors and windows.
